The things you take for granted, someone else is praying for.
Be thankful.
In the preparation for Thanksgiving, it is important to take a moment and remember the things in life that are truly blessings sent from above. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we tend to focus on the daily grind of checklists, appointments, meetings, and the mundane cycles of our day. As the plans for Thanksgiving dinners build - the pumpkin pie, turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and more - be sure to recognize and appreciate the hands that have prepared that meal...be thankful.
As you sit around the table, in front of the TV enjoying football, or indulge in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with your loved ones (whomever that may be), understand that there are others that would give anything to have that experience. If you know of someone that may need a place to enjoy community during this holiday - reach out, invite them in. Show them how thankful you are to have them in your life.
For some of us that are struggling with finding the things in our life to be thankful for, take a lesson from Kid President as he shows us how to find those things in our lives to be thankful for - many of them you would never think of.
So, as the upcoming holiday gets closer, take the time over the upcoming weeks to reach out to someone and tell them why you are thankful for them. Make a list of all the things you have to be thankful for - share them on social media: #thankful4.
As Brothers & Sister of Sigma Alpha Beta we are blessings to each other and something we should all be #thankful4.
Be Thankful.
